Born in York County, Pennsylvania, Steve grew up in the countryside near the banks of the Susquehanna River, a winding waterway which years later would turn up again and again in many of his paintings of the Pennsylvania landscape.
He received art training in painting almost exclusively through the Art Association of Harrisburg where he also now serves as an instructor. Steve has studied landscape painting for a number of years with J.D. Wissler of Lancaster County, and paints with an accomplished cont
